Resumen: Pese a los cambios sociales y culturales que ha experimentado la sociedad española durante las últimas décadas, la mayoría de las mujeres españolas consideran que el fútbol sigue caracterizándose por un ethos fuertemente masculino que lo convierte en impenetrable para aquellas que sienten interés por este deporte. Este artículo examina el fenómeno de las peñas futbolísticas femeninas; un tipo de asociaciones creadas por mujeres aficionadas al fútbol y seguidoras habituales de equipos de la primera y segunda división con el objeto de agruparse para asistir a los estadios y disfrutar de los partidos de los equipos con los que se identifican.

Abstract: Despite the social and cultural changes that the Spanish society has experienced during the last decades, most of Spanish women consider that football continues being characterized by a strongly masculine ethos that makes it impenetrable for those women interested in this sport. This paper examines the phenomenon of the football feminine peñas; a kind of supporters’ communities created by women who follow teams of the first and second division of the Spanish Football League in order to join to attend the stadiums and to enjoy the matches of their teams
