LA OPINIÓN PÚBLICA ANTE EL ESTADO

Resumen

Los profundos cambios políticos, económicos y sociales acaecidos en las últimas décadas del siglo XX han afectado al papel del Estado. Uno de los efectos más visibles ha sido la merma de espacios donde actuar que se han ido “cubriendo” por sectores del mercado, cuya lógica de actuación genera situaciones de mayor desigualdad y desprotección social para aquellos que no ocupan una posición que les permita seguir las reglas del merado y su ritmo de juego. En este artículo se profundiza en las opiniones de los ciudadanos hacia el Estado y hacia sí mismos como parte integrante del complejo entramado decisional y de influencias recíprocas que articulan las sociedades avanzadas, partiendo de la premisa de que la opinión pública es el actor legitimado para valorar las actuaciones públicas y determinar el peso del Estado en un sistema político democrático.

Abstract

The deep political, economical and social changes occured the last decades of the 20th century have affected the role of the State. One of the most visible effects have been the loss of space where to act which have been “covered” by sections of the market, which logical action generate situations of mayor unequalities and social defencelessness for those don’t occupy a position that permits them to follow the roles of the market and its rhythm of the game. This article studies the opinions of the citizens towards the State and towards themselves as an integrated part of the complex decision-making process and reciprocal influencies that articulate the advanced societies, working on the priciple that the Public Opinion is the entitled actor to value the public actions and determine the weight of the State in a democratic political system.
