Resumen: Este texto aboga por una revigorización del análisis crítico de la cultura, en onda con una paralela actualización de la tarea sociológica. Defiende que las variables explicativas centrales de la actual sociedad son de índole cultural y define un posible mapa de programas de actuación teórica e investigadora, como la modernización de la noción de conflicto, la búsqueda de nuevos marcos legitimadores y la reflexión sobre los medios emergentes de creatividad y comunicación artística.

Abstract: This text suggests a new approach to the critical analysis of culture, connecting it with the renewal of the sociological task. Accepting that our present is dominated by culturallyoriented variables, it advances several programs of theory-building and research such as a re-reading of conflict, a search for worldwide orders of legitimation and a reflection on alternate contexts of artistic creativity and communication.
