Resumen: Este artículo aborda la necesidad de visibilizar las consecuencias que el VIH/SIDA está teniendo en la sociedad contemporánea y trata de aportar una serie de estrategias, concebidas desde el arte, aplicables a ámbitos sociales y a comunidades especialmente indefensas ante el virus. Se considera que las manifestaciones artísticas que analizan la crisis del SIDA pueden transmitir una visión multidisciplinar sobre la epidemia que permita completar disertaciones específicas realizadas desde otras disciplinas. La presencia hegemónica de la imagen en la actualidad hace que ésta tenga una gran fuerza y una indudable capacidad para formular respuestas sociales y para servir de vehículo de información. Desde el ámbito plástico se puede crear opinión, movilizar conciencias y fomentar reflexiones en torno al tema. Por esto es importante investigar los mecanismos específicos que surgen desde el arte para analizar cuáles son los medios más eficaces que ayuden a enfrentarse a la crisis que el VIH/SIDA ha abierto en la sociedad contemporánea.

Abstract: This paper is about the need of seeing the consequences of the HIV/AIDS in the contemporary society and try to give a series of strategies, designed from the art, that can be applied to social ambits and to a specially defenceless community before the virus. Is considered that the artistic manifestations that analyze the AIDS crisis can give us a multidisciplinary view about the epidemic that permits to complete specific dissertations made in other disciplines. The hegemonic presence of the image in our days makes it have a big force and the aim to formule social answers and can serve as information vehicle. From the artistic point of view you can create opinion, move consciousnesses and promote reflexions about it. Therefore, is important investigate the specific mechanisms that appears from the art to analyze which are the methods more efficacies that helps in the AIDS crisis open in our contemporary society.
