Solutions to the crisis of the music industry

Resumen: Este artículo aborda la problemática que España y, en general, la industria musical afronta en este momento. La estructura de este estudio supone la división del mismo en cuatro partes fundamentales. La primera constituye la introducción o análisis preliminar del panorama actual musical. La segunda trata sobre la propuesta de la conformación de una nueva ley de la música. A ésta le sigue la tercera parte con alternativas y, por último, cierra una conclusión. El objetivo de este trabajo es que sirva de reflexión y como punto de partida para que se pongan en marcha diferentes mecanismos estatales como medida de protección, tanto para el artista como para el resto de figuras que participan de modo activo en el proceso de creación, producción y distribución de la música.

Abstract: This article discusses the problems that Spain and, in general, the music industry faces now. The structure of this study has been divided into four main sections. The first one is the introduction or the preliminary analysis of the current musical scene. The second one deals with the proposal of the formation of a new law of music. It is followed by the third part with some alternatives and, finally, a conclusion closes the paper. The aim of this work is to serve as a reflection and as a starting point for various mechanisms to be put in place as a protective measure, not only for the artist but also for the other figures who actively participate in the process of creation, production and distribution of music.
