Resumen: El propósito del siguiente trabajo es analizar el impacto y las consecuencias de la actual crisis económica que atraviesa España sobre la población de inmigrantes, evaluando su situación laboral y los problemas sociales que han afectado particularmente a este sector de la población. Se pretende como objetivos a seguir desarrollar los rasgos más importantes de la crisis económica en España, comparando el caso español con el resto de Europa, y evaluar el impacto económico de la crisis española en la población de inmigrantes, teniendo en cuenta principalmente su inserción en el mercado laboral pero también su situación social y legal, intentando dar cuenta de forma rigurosa del estado actual de esta problemática. Finalmente, analizamos también la evolución de los fenómenos de xenofobia y racismo en España.

Abstract: In this work we analyze the impact and the consequences of the current economical crisis undergone by Spain on the immigrant population, focusing on their labor situation and social and legal aspects that have particularly affected this area of the population, especially those that find themselves in irregular situations. After a short introduction, where we deal with general questions about the issue of immigration and the cultural clash that it entails, we focus on the impact that the crisis had on the situation of immigrants, mainly regarding work stability and work conditions. We conclude by emphasizing the need to put into practice new and deeper ways of assimilating immigrants, specially through education programs and work reconversion, as well as to approach the issue of immigration from a multidimensional perspective.
